The Giving Machine Is Here!
For the first time ever in Japan, the Giving Machine has made its way to Tokyo!
What Is the Giving Machine?
The Giving Machine is part of the Light the World annual initiative by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and Latter-Day Saints Charities. It is essentially a vending machine where, instead of snacks, you can purchase essential items like clothing, medicine, food, and even livestock for charities worldwide. It provides a memorable way to help those in need, locally and globally.

An Opportunity to Serve
All who can are encouraged to stop by and make a donation to help those who are less fortunate and struggling here in Japan and throughout the world. The Giving Machine space is beautiful and many individuals and families have already stopped by and had a fun and uplifting experience.
For those who are able to donate, the best options for payment are:
- Cash (bring exact payment as change is not available)
- Amex
- Diners Card
- Discover
- JTB
Unfotunately, there have been some issues with Visa and Mastercard payments, so if you use either one of those cards, it is best to bring a backup card or cash.
Of course, even those who are not able to donate may post about the Giving Machine on social media and tell friends and family in the area about it. Every little act helps to spread the light of Christ throughout the world, which is really what the initiative is all about!
